Legacy Family & Leadership exists to help families, leaders, and businesses in Southern Oregon THRIVE. We accomplish this through our free programming which includes: group parenting education, peer support, community workshops, leadership coaching, and leadership cohorts.
We aim to see every Southern Oregon family tap into the support, encouragement, and framework offered in group parenting classes. We want all parents to feel empowered and equipped to parent well in today's society. Legacy Family & Leadership (ATW) is working to reduce social isolation and empower families to break free of generational cycles that put families and children at risk. While we often work with families that are already ODHS involved, helping with reunification plans and required parenting education hours; we want to be proactive and swim upstream, helping families before they get to this point. We believe that by normalizing parent education we can encourage parents to learn about child development and normal child behaviors and to foster relationships that lead to support systems for families and children.
We also strive to strengthen local families and businesses by increasing the capacity of our young adults in the areas of communication, stress management, and leadership potential. We want to encourage young adults to increase their leadership and management skills to strengthen our workforce, and also encourage local small business owners to strengthen our local economy. Community workshops are open to everyone with the goal of fostering good communication skills and healthy stress-coping skills.

Hi, I’m Teresa. I’m a creative introvert who loves to listen and lift others up. As a little girl growing up I often times dreamt of greatness but never though it was for me. As a teenager I believed this lie and began to live it by being swept away in bad relationship after bad relationship. I was married at the age 20 and had five kids in the first five years of marriage. Life was hard.
Fast forward 22 years later and I am happily married to the same incredible man. Life with five mini-adults and a toddler puts an interesting spin on life but it is something that I am absolutely loving. My husband and I together teach parenting classes and serve as marriage/family mentors and counselors.
Today, I serve as the Executive Director for Legacy Family & Leadership. This ministry presents me with the rare opportunity to connect my passion of caring for women, supporting healthy families, and serving in the community with my skills of creativity, organization, and development.
If you were to visit me in my office you would see a cold iced tea on my desk, Airpods and streaming focus music in my ears, some type of grant open on my laptop as well as numerous projects tabs opened all while hand writing thank you notes to our fabulous partners and donors.

Hi, my name is Taylorann and I’m excited to be the new Director of Development at Legacy F&L. I’m a wife and mom of two littles who teach me new things about myself every day. I’ve learned that any situation can call for an iced coffee and a moment to breathe. I have also learned that parenting isn’t as much fun without a community of people who support you and want the best for your family. I hope to be that encouragement and support for others through my work with Legacy.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministry and have been working for the last four years at a local nonprofit as a case manager. My focus has been helping young adults and teens create goals for their lives and figure out how to reach them. I am passionate about assisting young moms through hard times and seeing families thrive.

Dana Engelhardt, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, retired from a 25-year career in 2019 from hospital nursing. Relocating to Grants Pass with her husband, Larry, she immediately started looking for areas of need to support the underserved in the community.
She is currently president of the Soroptimist International River Valley and enjoys working in Women’s Ministries and using her gift of hospitality at River Valley Community Church.
Upon learning about At the Well, Dana was eager to support an organization dedicated to the education of important life skills such as parent effectiveness, marriage, grief support, and leadership skills.
Suddenly finding herself a 23-year-old single mother of a two-year-old, this precious resource is exactly what she sought and was unable to find. Dana is excited to work with At the Well to strengthen families in our community.

Founded in 2003, Safe Families for Children surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides hope and support to families in our local communities. Located in 70 cities across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and beyond, we are motivated by faith to keep children safe and families intact. Safe Families for Children hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family–like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families intact.
Every Child gathers families in partnership with Oregon’s Department of Human Services (DHS) to aide vulnerable children and families. Everyone has something to bring to foster care — be it donating, volunteering, or fostering.
And by doing so, we’re able to bring love, care, and support to vulnerable children and families who previously had nowhere to turn.
