Hi, I’m Teresa. I’m a creative introvert who loves to listen and lift others up. As a little girl growing up I often times dreamt of greatness but never though it was for me. As a teenager I believed this lie and began to live it by being swept away in bad relationship after bad relationship. I was married at the age 20 and had five kids in the first five years of marriage. Life was hard.
Fast forward 26 years later and I am happily married to the same incredible man. Life with five mini-adults and a toddler puts an interesting spin on life but it is something that I am absolutely loving. My husband and I together teach parenting classes and serve as marriage/family mentors and counselors. We are parenting again and have a high spirted five year old, and are blessed to have three grandkids.
Today, I serve as the Executive Director for Legacy Family & Leadership. This ministry presents me with the rare opportunity to connect my passion of caring for women, supporting healthy families, and serving in the community with my skills of creativity, organization, and development.
If you were to visit me in my office you would see a cold iced tea on my desk, Airpods and streaming focus music in my ears, some type of grant open on my laptop as well as numerous projects tabs opened all while hand writing thank you notes to our fabulous partners and donors.

After completing a Bachelor’s in Business and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, I moved to So. Oregon to work at RCC. I became a foster parent and was privileged to have 14 kids over 11 years be part of my home. I’m now have 21 nieces and nephews and am a Great Aunt to 6 so far! What a joy to belong to a family; a richness that every child should know. I value Legacy Family Leadership’s role in the Rogue Valley and am blessed to be a part of an organization that helps families break unhealthy patterns and grow into the nurturing building blocks of community that we need them to be. I’ve seen selflessness and forgiveness modeled, often imperfectly but with good intent and know how vital those are to healthy relationships. I look forward to cheering those on, who have the grit to carve out a family legacy that thrives!

Founded in 2003, Safe Families for Children surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides hope and support to families in our local communities. Located in 70 cities across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and beyond, we are motivated by faith to keep children safe and families intact. Safe Families for Children hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family–like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by compassion to keep children safe and families intact.
Every Child gathers families in partnership with Oregon’s Department of Human Services (DHS) to aide vulnerable children and families. Everyone has something to bring to foster care — be it donating, volunteering, or fostering.
And by doing so, we’re able to bring love, care, and support to vulnerable children and families who previously had nowhere to turn.
